Installation instructions.
1. Make a directory for the BANK installation. Usually another directory
where all your other PPEs are installed. Ex. c:\pcb\ppe\bank
2. Copy BANK.ZIP to the directory you just created.
3. Change to the new directory where BANK.ZIP resides.
4. Unzip BANK.ZIP using the "-d" option so all the files are installed
in thier proper directory. Ex-> pkunzip -d bank
5. Read BANK.DOC for further installation instructions. The BANK.PPE
will not function until you complete all the installations steps
in BANK.DOC - so you have to read it :)
6. Enjoy!!!
NOTE: If you are upgrading from a previous version and you -HAVE NOT-
modified any of the source code, just unzip all the files over
your old files. The only file that will be overwritten which may
be specific to your system setup is the BANKPACK.CFG file. See
the WHATSNEW.DOC file located in BANK.ZIP for changes since last
version.
If you have modified the source (text changes only, not code
changes) you will need to modify the EXTERNAL TEXT files and
not the source code. Make changes in BANKTXT and BANKTXT2.
If you made CODE changes to the source, then you will need to
make those changes again and recompile with the new version.
Lastly:
We see other BANK PPE's are following in our footsteps with
changes to formats and code to reduce extraneous setups required
by the SysOp. In fact, one of the BANK PPE programs had the .Cfg
file format changed, and it now matches ours <G> (except for
types of exchanges to allow). Even the description of the .Cfg
file format matches the way we have described ours - it is a
small world :) BTW, your welcome.
I guess releasing source code has benefited more people than we
thought!! This is a GOOD thing to see, as it makes the PPE
programs better for all PCBoard SysOps.
But once again, why pay for a BANK PPE when you can have one for
FREE with FULL SOURCE, which is better than anything else
available.
Thanks,
John Palazzolo and Dan Shore
